This old bare track had been an eyesore for years. It was wide an bare with deep holes in some areas right down to the rock. there was very little soil so nothing was going to grow there. It would have been part of the old track that led up to the Summit and ran from the Bloodwood track near the touch footy fields up to the Acacia track heading up to the Summit about 75 metres long.

The land was steep and eroded so initially coir logs were laid to reduce the eroding effects of rainfall and the area was then covered with a 100mm layer of mulch. This depth varied in places due to the presence of some pretty deep holes right down to the rock.

About 100 native plants were installed during our March 2022 working bee and most of them still remain today. We had hoped that 2 years later there would be a bit more cover but in this dry area nothing happens fast. Damaged tracks, especially on slopes, take years to recover.
